You’d love to continue learning and reading but don’t have time to go to the library? Girl, we have some free life hacks for you! Check out our tips and tricks below to read for free:
1. Hoopla, Kanopy or Libby Apps: Ok, so you do have to go to the library once. But once you have a library card, download the Hoopla app on your phone. Once you login with your library card details, you can borrow e-books, audiobooks, movies, etc. through your local library. You’ll love the added benefit of the audiobooks you can listen to during your morning commute!
2. Kindle Lending Library: Stumbled upon this one by accident. I have a Kindle, so there is a bit of cost as you do have to have a Kindle to use it. But once you have a Kindle, you can borrow books for free. Aren’t done in the allotted time? Put it on airplane mode until you’ve finished the book and then take your time. Bonus: If you’re a Prime member, you get access to additional books!
3. Do a “Book Swap”: I was recently in London on a layover for a work trip and was riding the Tube everywhere. There is an unspoken etiquette that when you are done with reading materials such as magazines, books etc, you can leave them on a seat for the next person to read. I loved this as it was a “pass it along” mentality. Why not do this at work or with a group of friends? When you’re done reading a book that has inspired you, bring it in and start a little lending library at work or pass it to the next person in your mini book club!
